Repair of MWM gas genset units

Warranty repairs of MWM gas genset units

MKC Group of Companies, relying on the regulations and recommendations of the manufacturer, will promptly eliminate malfunctions in the operation of an MWM gas engine, if the case is qualified as a warrantable situation.

MWM regulations include three levels of scheduled repairs:

E-50

This type of repair addresses the least amount of work. It is carried out for MWM gas genset units of various types with the time in service intervals from 16,000 to 20,000 engine hours (from 2 to 2.5 years of continuous operation of the unit). In this case, the MKC specialists will conduct diagnostic tests and adjustments, check the operation of the accumulator, the air-gas mixer, and, if necessary, replace small parts and repair the turbocompressor. According to the regulations, two E-50 repairs should take place before the overhaul.

E-60

This type of repair is carried out for MWM gas genset units of various types with the time in service intervals from 32,000 to 40,000 engine hours (from 3.6 to 4.5 years of continuous operation). It includes all the operations provided for in the E-50 repair and also provides for the replacement of cylinder liners and pistons, valve lifters, connecting rod bearings, and cleaning of the mix cooler. E-60 also includes cylinder head repair and overhaul of turbocompressors. According to the regulations, 1 E-60 repair should take place before the overhaul.

E-70

This type of repair has the overhaul status and is carried out for MWM gas genset units of various types with the time in service intervals from 64,000 engine hours (for the gas genset units of 2016 and 2020 series) to 80,000 engine hours (for the gas genset units of 2032 series), i.e. in 7,5-9 years of continuous operation. The overhaul includes all the E-50 and E-60 operations, as well as the replacement of cylinder-piston group parts, connecting rods, bearings, seals, camshaft, oil pump, etc. As part of the E-70, overhaul of the actuating and gas mixing devices, checking and polishing of the crankshaft are carried out.

Emergency repairs of MWM gas genset units

Despite the high reliability and efficiency of MWM engines, emergencies may occur, if the equipment is not operated properly. As a rule, most emergencies occur for the following reasons:

Inadequate or delayed maintenance service

Trying to save on service, the owner of a gas genset unit carries out service repair on his own or attracts unqualified companies that do not have experience, knowledge, and tools.

The use of non-original (counterfeit) spare parts

Trying to save on spare parts, the owner of a gas genset unit acquires counterfeit spare parts and materials that instantly fail being unable to withstand the load.

Improper operation

Due to low qualifications or negligence, the owner of a gas genset unit ignores operational regulations: improperly or untimely reacts to the warnings sent by the electronic systems that inform about the unit malfunction.
