Applications Open for the International Competition "Small Energy - Big Achievements" on September 1

On September 1, applications for participation in the International Competition "Small Energy - Great Achievements" begin to be accepted. The award, established by the Small Energy Association and MKS Group of Companies with the support of the Energy Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Business Russia business association, has been held since 2013 and is currently a unique platform for the presentation of advanced projects in the field of distributed and alternative energy. This year the presentation of the main award of the contest - the Golden Lightning statuettes - will be held in the Congress Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

This year the Prize will be awarded in 6 nominations: "Best Small Power Project up to 5 MW"; "Best Small Power Project from 5 MW"; "Best Alternative Energy Project"; "Innovative Development in the Energy Sector"; "Investor of the Year in the Energy Sector" and "For Contribution to Industry Development".

The winners will be selected by an authoritative jury consisting of leading experts from the Russian business community, representatives of federal and regional government authorities, rectors and scientists from specialized universities of the country. The winners will receive a Diploma of Honor and an exclusive statuette "Golden Lightning" made by Zlatoust craftsmen.

"Every year the interest in the Award grows, and this is primarily due to the dynamic development of the small distributed power industry itself," said Maxim Zagornov, President of the Small Power Association, member of the General Council of Delovaya Rossiya, Director of MKS Group of Companies. - According to the most modest estimates, the potential of distributed generation in Russia today is 17 GW. Behind this figure there are hundreds of realized bright and innovative projects. Our contest will try to identify the best of them".

This year's Golden Lightning Awards Ceremony will be held on December 7 in Moscow, at the Congress Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation as part of the Annual Energy Forum. In the foyer there will be an exhibition of achievements and opportunities of the industry companies, as well as developers and suppliers of generating equipment. The forum and the award ceremony will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Alexey Repik, President of the Business Russia business association, and Sergey Yesyakov, First Deputy Chairman of the Energy Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, who has been heading the Expert Council of the award for 6 years.

"The history of this competition, which started as a national and then grew to an international one, has once again proved how in-demand small distributed and alternative energy technologies are in today's society," said Sergey Yesyakov. - The Award unites representatives of the strongest engineering companies, power equipment suppliers, and financial institutions. This shows that the Award is recognized in the professional environment and its authority is growing.

It should be noted that more than 350 companies from 10 countries: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Poland, Japan, Germany, Nigeria and Sierra Leone have participated in the International Competition "Small Energy - Great Achievements" for 6 years.
