In August 2019, the MKS Group of Companies launched a modular power plant in the Yaroslavl region. The energy centre with a total capacity of 1,2 MW provides electric and heat power to one of the key enterprises of the Russian aviation industry. It is noteworthy that for the MKS Group of Companies this mini-MPP became the first object sold within the power supply contract framework.

The construction of a 1,2 MW modular power plant based on the MWM TCG 2016 V12 gas generator was implemented turnkey by the MKS Group of Companies. The company's specialists carried out design works, calculated the layout of the equipment taking into account the location of the facility on the territory of the current enterprise, delivered the generating equipment. MKS specialists have also managed the production of modules on their own production base in Chelyabinsk.

The energy centre operates in a cogeneration mode (simultaneous electric and heat power generation), so that the total efficiency can reach 90%, ensuring a cost-efficient fuel consumption. Natural gas is used as fuel. The energy centre includes the most advanced technologies and modern equipment, which allows to achieve the maximum reliability, economy and environmental friendliness of the facility.

For the MKS Group of Companies the energy centre in the Yaroslavl region became the first object to be implemented under the power supply contract. This type of cooperation involves the operation of equipment owned by MKS Group of Companies under a lease agreement with subsequent purchase possibility at a residual value by the tenant for electric and heat power generation for the needs of the plant.

The main criterion to choose such an operation scheme is the final price of the thermal and electric power together with the current networks of the plant. The customer enterprise used to receive the electric power from an Inter-Regional High-Voltage Grid Company at an average price of about 5,5 roubles per 1 kW. Using a parallel self-generation mode, the cost of electricity and heat is reduced as a significant portion of the power is replaced by the self-generation. Thus, the essence of the power supply contract is to obtain a mutual profit both by the tenant and the lessor by reducing the final price for heat and electric power.
